Meco DIT-99C Digital Insulation Tester is the insulation resistant measurement device. The protection obstruction (IR) test (additionally usually known as a Megger) is a spot protection test which utilizes a connected DC voltage (commonly either 250Vdc, 500Vdc or 1,000Vdc for low voltage hardware <600V and 2,500Vdc and 5,000Vdc for high voltage gear) to gauge protection opposition in either kΩ, MΩ or Gω. The deliberate opposition is expected to show the state of the protection or dielectric between two conductive parts, where the higher the obstruction, the better the state of the protection. In a perfect world, the protection obstruction would be vast, yet as no encasings are flawless, spillage streams through the dielectric will guarantee that a limited (however high) opposition esteem is estimated.
